4 Ways to Reset Metabolism after Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is a great time to get together and enjoy family, friends and good food however over-indulgence can occur and there are 4 ways to reset the metabolism and get back on track.
- Skip breakfast the morning after Thanksgiving. Start off by drinking the juice of half lemon in water then have a cup of green tea or coffee. The lemon juice will stimulate the liver which is essential for metabolism. Green tea is excellent for fat burning and contains antioxidants.
- Exercise by doing your favorite activity in this fasted state to burn the extra calories stored in the body. Activities such as shopping on Black Friday morning or going for a long walk is also another option.
- Consume protein at each of your meals and drink plenty of water throughout the day after Thanksgiving. Protein helps to keep us full so that we don’t overeat and water is excellent for the kidneys and other body processes.
- Meditate, do yoga, use EFT, pray or engage in a spiritually relaxing process of your choice. By doing something to relax your body you lower cortisol levels. Cortisol is a known culprit for storing fat in the body which is brought on by stress.
